About The Position

Sandis is currently looking for a full-time QSD/QSP Field Supervisor to manage stormwater compliance and field inspectors on construction projects. This position will coordinate with QSP’s, owners, contractors, and permitting authorities. We think you will love it here!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or other relevant studies, or equivalent combination of military training and/or field experience.
  • QSD/QSP Certification and 10 Hour OSHA Training preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Google products, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Basic laboratory handling and sampling skills.
  • Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot various meters and testing equipment.
  • Strong ability to deal with complex systems.
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Excellent safety record and safety awareness.
  • Clean driving record and current California driver’s license with applicable insurance.
  • Ability to perform occasional field work using power tools and hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SWPPP installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. multiple times within a few hours.
  • Ability to use a sledgehammer to drive wooden stakes into soil.
  • Ability to lift 80 lb. drain grates with assistance.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field and office activities involving storm water monitoring, testing and report writing.
  • Offer support to field technicians, manage routes, train QSP’s and construction site teams.
  • Conduct construction site inspections of erosion and sediment controls.
  • Perform storm water and non-storm water sampling and testing.
  • Meet with contractors and clients to discuss findings of field activities.
  • Provide site specific solutions for projects.
  • Occasionally install and/or maintain erosion and sediment controls in the field.
  • Track projects and organize field data.
  • Handle project permitting.
  • Prepare or modify erosion/sediment control plans.
  • Coordinate with project teams on pollution prevention methods.
  • Research pollution topics.
  • Write reports and upload information to state and client databases.
