About The Position

The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides community-based Intensive In-Home (IIH) counseling and support services to children and adolescents with emotional or behavioral challenges. The QMHP works collaboratively with the client, family, and multidisciplinary team to create individualized treatment plans, promote emotional stability, and enhance family functioning within the home and community setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Must meet Virginia Board of Counseling QMHP-C or QMHP-T registration requirements.
  • At least one (1) year of clinical experience working with youth or families (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable using electronic health record systems (Procentive, Noteable).
  • Knowledge of community-based mental health services.
  • Proficient in documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with mental health conditions and interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Understanding of community resources and entitlement programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with service providers and referral sources.
  • Skilled in using supervision to enhance service delivery.
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and behavioral management techniques.
  • Must pass background checks and provide necessary credentials before the start date.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to clients’ homes and community locations with valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medicaid-funded programs.
  • Crisis management or trauma-informed care experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including some evenings/weekends based on client needs).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face therapeutic interventions in the home, school, and community.
  • Conduct assessments, crisis interventions, and service planning in accordance with Medicaid and agency guidelines.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, schools, and other service providers to support the youth’s treatment goals.
  • Document all sessions, progress notes, and treatment updates in Noteable in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisors, clinical directors, and the treatment team.
  • Participate in regular supervision and case reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with DMAS, Medicaid, and agency standards.
