About The Position
The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) will play a crucial role in the coordination and administration of mental health services within the medical department. This position involves evaluating the mental health status of individuals upon referral and serving as a liaison between the medical unit and various external health care facilities, as well as other departments. The QMHP will provide one-on-one interventions and crisis intervention services, particularly for individuals in correctional facilities. Additionally, the QMHP will facilitate admissions and placements for individuals requiring forensic and community hospital services, ensuring that they receive the appropriate level of care. The role also includes training medical personnel on mental health-related issues and collaborating with state and county agencies to provide comprehensive mental health services to the public. The QMHP will report directly to the Nurse Supervisor or the Registered Director of Mental Health and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the organization.
