The Media QM Associate Scientist (QMAS) performs microbiological tests on a variety of plated/liquid media products and interprets data to ensure product quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Will perform assigned routine laboratory tasks and learn the application of Quality procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Work with SAP enterprise system to enter laboratory data and release material.
  • Typically involved in routine testing of products and supplier materials and/or stability testing.
  • Implement tasks and participate on teams.
  • Accurately ensures documentation compliance and process documentation.
  • Perform assignments within the QC lab in support of assigned plant operations to ensure the highest standards are met for products. This includes testing of raw materials and finished goods using a variety of testing techniques.
  • Handle hazardous materials, including chemicals and infectious agents, in the accurate manner as established by safety and company policy.
  • May be required to perform testing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) and other similar organisms requiring Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory containment with strict adherence to safety policies associated with this manner of testing.
  • Assist in documentation writing & revising including test methods, final product specifications, SOPs, etc. as required.
  • Assist in completing tasks in project protocols, change notifications, deviation waivers and Quality Notifications with supervision.
  • Will work in any of the laboratories within the QC department without a permanent assignment.
  • Must be able to operate stationary instruments of low to moderate complexity, such as pH meters, analytical balances, and spectrophotometer, among others.
