About The Position

As a QI Data Specialist, you will collect, organize, analyze business/clinical/functional outcomes and service data. You will review data pulled from the Electronic Health Record and other applicable sources for accuracy. Your role will support ongoing tracking, monitoring, and evaluation of outcomes using established tools and templates. You will assist with updating and maintaining dashboards, tables, and charts to report outcomes data. Additionally, you will track and monitor program compliance with QI and safety reporting elements, providing feedback and training to program staff on reporting elements as needed. Continuous monitoring of adherence to CRF, CCL, County, State, Federal and other regulatory standards will be part of your responsibilities. You will work as part of the QI Data Analysis Team, along with the Sr. and Jr Data Analysts, and perform other QI duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • An Associates degree or certificate in data analysis, health information, or a related field.
  • One year experience working with data entry or basic reporting tasks in a healthcare setting or in a quality improvement role.
  • One year of experience working with data entry and/or analysis from a variety of databases/source.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of analytical, computational, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with quality improvement software and electronic health records preferred.
  • Experience working within San Diego County Behavioral Health System of Care.
  • Knowledge of Cerner and SmartCare (SD County BHS Electronic Health Record) strongly preferred.
  • Experience using statistical software and Access is a plus.

Responsibilities
