The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility is home to about 470 team members who produce iconic pet food brands and offers a robust summer immersive internship experience in Quality Food Safety (QFS). This internship will provide hands-on experience in a consumer-centric organization, focusing on developing business knowledge in QFS and preparing participants for leadership roles within the company.

  • Assist in several project and/or operations support roles within the plant.
  • Learn all areas of the plant Quality Assurance Department including product formulation, sanitation, pest control, product analysis, statistical process control, and product testing.
  • Utilize Quality Assurance data to measure product quality performance.
  • Participate in quality initiatives related to customer visits, audit results, and sales and marketing communications.
  • Evaluate disposition of HOLD product and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct GMP audits and inspections.
  • Contribute to Food Safety Plans and initiatives.
  • Work on projects such as reducing product quality defects and participating in annual internal audits.
  • Pursuing a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree in Food Science, Food Processing, Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology or related field with a graduation date in 2026.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to identify areas of opportunity.
  • High level of competence in computer applications and technology as a decision-support tool.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion.
  • Previous internship or work experience (strongly preferred).
  • Interest in the consumer-packaged goods/manufacturing industry with a desire to start a career with Post Consumer Brands after graduation (strongly preferred).
