About The Position

Under general supervision, the QDDP utilizes basic behavior principles including visual supports, behavior maps, visual schedules, social stories, and augmentative communication. The role involves planning and implementing daily activities for the program, assisting with toileting and personal hygiene for each consumer, and executing behavior plans as directed by case managers and/or behavior specialists. The QDDP maintains specific knowledge of each consumer’s behavior plan, interacts with consumers appropriately, and initiates leisure activities throughout the day. Additionally, the position includes planning and implementing community-based outings, supervising and maintaining the safety of all consumers, and recording necessary data for reporting procedures as outlined for the Department of Mental Health. The QDDP performs tasks as directed by the Director of Day Services, Day Services Coordinator, and Executive Director, completes training as outlined in The Center for Autism Education policy book, and effectively uses restraint/transfer techniques to intervene with consumers experiencing crises. The role also involves providing direct supervision of day service direct support staff, interviewing and hiring direct support staff, and demonstrating written and organizational skills necessary for job responsibilities. Physical demands include the ability to stoop, bend, lift up to 20 pounds, kneel, sit on the floor, walk a distance of up to one mile, and run at a brisk pace to support a consumer who elopes. The QDDP is responsible for the accurate passing of medication, as applicable.
