About The Position

The QCT - Microbiology position is a critical role focused on ensuring the quality and safety of products through rigorous microbiological testing and analysis. The successful candidate will lead and execute quality control testing protocols to detect and identify microbial contaminants in various samples, supporting compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including production, research and development, and quality assurance to maintain high standards of product integrity. The position requires meticulous documentation and reporting to support continuous improvement initiatives and regulatory inspections. Ultimately, the role ensures that all microbiological aspects of product quality meet or exceed company and industry standards, safeguarding consumer health and company reputation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a microbiology laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of microbiological testing techniques and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EPA, ISO).
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and standard laboratory software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Microbiology or related field.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical, food, or environmental microbiology quality control.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and sterile manufacturing environments.
  • Certification in quality management systems or microbiology (e.g., ASQ Certified Microbiologist).
  • Experience with statistical analysis software and advanced data interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to detect microbial contamination.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain microbiological test methods and protocols in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company standards.
  • Analyze and interpret microbiological data, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and participate in internal and external audits.
