About The Position

The Quality Technicians assures the quality of product based on the customer specifications by means of measurement of parts and visual inspections and maintaining supportive documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Six to two years of related quality experience or a combination of education and training.
  • Advanced level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect parts based on OQI requirements and master samples, encompassing a 10-15 % audit of parts per box or tote with a minimum number of boxes per skid as dictated by the OQI. This includes matching parts being inspected to good part samples, checking label correctness, and accurate traceability for production and rework of parts. Once the inspection process is complete, the Quality Technician is responsible to seal all boxes or totes.
  • The Quality Technician is the initial person responsible for the quality of parts in their assigned area.
  • Responsible for the communication of standards and any deviations of those standards within their assigned area as well as customer driven communication, related performance, and continuous improvement feedback.
  • Required to be present for all press start-ups and re-starts. Responsible to submit start up parts to QC lab for approval and retention.
  • Responsible to retrieve last shot samples produced from each job and submits to QC Lab for retention.
  • Makes determination of parts deemed questionable by press operators while assuring the 5-piece scrap rule is adhered to. Communication of excess scrap will be via a reaction plan.
  • Inspects, coordinates, and records work performed by the group. Including Past Problem History and hourly press checks.
  • Monitors cell conformance to work instructions and reports issues to supervisor for handling.
  • Filing, distributing, and copying control plans supporting each job.
  • Check parts to Master samples one times per shift and at start up.
  • Investigates all Non-Conformances and enters onto the system.
  • Support L2 Press Operators with Stanley startup /restart first box procedure. Assist and support the process of setting up of work cells.
