About The Position

Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a QC Technician to support our Quality Control Department team. This role will be responsible for monitoring activities in the plant, performing quality inspections and testing to control and assure adherence to specifications and to maintain the quality and food safety standards of the products. Additional responsibilities will include: Responsible for ensuring food manufacturing companies adhere to state sanitation protocols Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment using sensory and instrumental methods. Perform incoming inspections of carriers, ingredients and packaging materials. Analyze and document analysis of materials used in manufacturing. Prepare blending sheets where necessary. Monitor, analyze and document in-process conditions, materials and products. Collect samples for microbiology testing of ingredients, products and packaging materials. Audit and check production, processing and paperwork items utilizing a QC checklist. Collect, store, analyze and track retain samples. Perform water sample collection and analysis for analytical results. Collect samples for environmental microbiology monitoring of manufacturing areas. Perform GMP audits and monitor GMP conditions. Assist in complaint investigations where necessary. Monitor and perform lab equipment calibrations. Perform data entry. Perform laboratory solution and media preparation. Perform temperature measurement and monitoring in manufacturing and transportation. Perform analytical testing of ingredients and products. Process and analyze paperwork for QC functions. Performs or assists with additional assignments as directed by QC Management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-year recent work experience in a manufacturing facility, food production preferred
  • Knowledge of basic math and problem solving
  • Must have basic computing skills to operate and interface with manufacturing software
  • Ability to listen, understand and communicate written and verbal information and ideas
  • Ability to operate equipment and machines in an industrial environment
  • Ability to perform work within established guidelines i.e., in a safe matter
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime
  • Basic knowledge of liquid transport systems such as valve matrix, pumps and pressurized vessels
  • Forklift certified
  • Must be located in City of Industry, CA, surrounding area, or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to be onsite at the manufacturing facility on a full-time basis
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for the duration of the shift, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting/moving items weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
