About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing on-line inspections on component and finished product audits. This role involves testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and compiling statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. The technician will release conforming lots, document non-conforming lots, and ensure record accuracy for traceability according to established inspection procedures and work instructions. Additionally, the technician supports and documents the results of the calibration system, test method validation, and pest management systems specific to the location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-3 years of work experience or equivalent for Quality Control Technician.
  • Math and problem-solving skills equivalent to a high school education.
  • 3+ years of work experience or equivalent under limited supervision for Quality Control Technician, Sr.
  • Investigate QIRs and customer complaints, working with the internal team to ensure timely and effective CAPA responses.
  • Monitor the calibration system and perform and schedule various in-house and vendor-related calibration activities.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of work experience or equivalent and/or certification (CQT, CQI, CQA etc.) through a recognized body such as the ASQ American Society of Quality.
  • Knowledge of process capability.
  • Test Method Validation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct product verification by visually examining, inspecting, approving or rejecting incoming materials, WIP or finished goods according to established standards and ensure accurate documentation according to established procedures.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained to ensure traceability according to established procedures.
  • Perform data collection; interpret and analyze information to provide recommendations for solutions and continuous improvement.
  • Perform visual inspection and operate various measuring tools to verify and release products by measuring dimensional characteristics and other product performance characteristics such as porosity, seal strength, material thickness, basis weight, and coat weight according to current inspection procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform in-process testing and production line monitoring on all selected processes deemed critical to the finished product, including verifying conformance to written specifications and good documentation practices.
  • Prepare certifications of analysis and conformance for finished goods.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to processes to assure component/product procedures.
  • Participate on the internal auditing team.
