About the position

The QC Technician role involves performing quality control analytical work in compliance with established standards and regulations. The technician will ensure accurate reporting of results to both internal and external customers while maintaining high-quality standards in a laboratory environment. This position requires collaboration with team members and effective communication to support production processes and uphold safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out QC analytical work according to written methods and using the correct equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Standards - ISO 9000 and FSSC 22000/22002, applying cGMP food safety/drug safety.
  • Report any accidents or hazardous incidents immediately to management.
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with cGMP, GFSI, and ISO requirements for third parties.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding their requirements and results.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth operations and effective shift handovers.
  • Troubleshoot questionable results and equipment problems in a timely manner.
  • Calibrate lab equipment and maintain records to ensure readiness for use.
  • Suggest and run small projects for lab improvements.
  • Follow company policies and procedures using cGMP for safe and quality work.
  • Conduct internal audits to ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC 22000:2018 standards.
  • Investigate out of specification results and customer complaints, assisting with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Physically inspect equipment and conduct swabs for clean room approval.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an associate's degree in physical science.
  • A minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience in quality control testing.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and good laboratory practices (GLP) - cGMP.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 and FSSC 22000/22002 standards.
  • Proficiency in instrumental analysis and wet chemistry techniques, including HPLC and spectroscopic techniques.
  • Computer skills for using databases, spreadsheets, and LIMS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with organoleptic testing.
