About The Position

This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for monitoring and adjusting the production process to ensure customer product specifications and company quality standards are met. This is a second shift position with standard hours of 1PM to 9:30PM. Candidates must be able to train during first shift hours for first 60 days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field or at two years’ experience in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as standard operating procedures, equipmentmanuals, and blend formulas.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from colleagues in anappropriate manner.
  • Ability to interpret testing results and follow SOP document for appropriate action.
  • Ability to operate a variety of lab equipment and instruments and a variety of office equipment.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel as well as database programs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rate, ratio, percents and volume using metricequivalents.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field or at least six months experience in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the production process; accurately tests and interprets raw materials and work-inprocessfor adherence to customer specifications and company quality standards; andpromptly informs production of any adjustments needed.
  • Analyzes final products with all required tests for product approval and performs various inprocess laboratory tests.
  • Ensures proper aseptic sample methods for microbiological samples.
  • Assists with handling samples submitted for microbial analyses, and order creation for the externallaboratory.
  • Calibrates lab instruments and equipment to specified standards and ensures lab cleanlinessaccording to GMP or GLP as required.
  • Organizes and maintains all required paperwork and documentation.
  • Ability to navigate DocBox and become proficient in SAP for results entry and release.
  • Performs assorted tasks assigned by the QC Lab Manager (e.g. Sample Preparation).
  • Previous experience in a GMP environment is beneficial but not required.
  • Maintains a clean supply of glassware to perform all required testing.
  • Monitors inventory levels of lab supplies and informs person responsible for ordering.
