About The Position

Day Shift Minimum of 40 hours a week (OT depending on work load) Principal Duties & Responsibilities Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for welding and fabrication quality assurance in industrial construction projects. Provide technical leadership related to: Weld procedures (WPS/PQR qualification and compliance) Non-Destructive Testing (NDT/NDE) Weld testing and qualification of craft personnel Interface with client QA/QC representatives to ensure alignment of quality requirements. Inspect fabricated structural steel to ensure compliance with shop drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Perform internal site audits to confirm compliance with AISC, AWS, ASME, and company QA/QC Manual requirements. Ensure subcontractor compliance with AISC, AWS, and contractual standards. Review structural drawings, weld symbols, and engineering documentation to verify code compliance. Ensure all required quality documentation, certifications, and records are maintained. Support estimating and project execution teams to incorporate QA/QC requirements into proposals and project plans. Maintain and support company certifications (AISC, ASME, NACE, etc.), including leading external audits and recertification efforts. Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and oversight to project managers, field personnel, and shop operations. Visit project sites to conduct inspections, audits, and quality support activities. Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, reduce costs, and improve productivity. Support procurement in supplier qualification and evaluation processes. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and accountability at all levels.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in a QA/QC environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial fabrication or construction
  • Strong structural steel and welding experience
  • Working knowledge of: AISC, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.1 & B31.3, ASME Section II, V, and IX
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret structural shop drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications
  • Proven leadership and team development capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • High level of organization and documentation discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • ASNT-TC-1A Level II in applicable NDT methods (PT, MT, RT, UT, VT)
  • NACE Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Metallurgy (preferred but not required)
