About The Position

Position Summary: The Produce QC Specialist will assist in maintaining the highest quality produce, consistent with the longstanding reputation of Chefs Warehouse. The QC Specialist must have demonstrated experience with fresh produce and a strong background in quality control in the food industry. Additionally, Specialists are expected to take on leadership and analytical responsibilities in the department. What you’ll do: Make informed decisions about produce quality, with consideration for quality, shrink %, shorts, and overall customer experience Assist in training new team members Maintain accurate inventory by conducting daily inventory counts as well as making accurate and timely inventory adjustments Take initiative in investigative work related to inventory discrepancies Cull/rework cases in an effort to reduce shrink Respond to quality and inventory inquiries via email Maintain professional decorum in communications with operations, sales, and buying teams, in-person and via email Produce daily reports to share interdepartmentallyCover leadership responsibilities in Produce Quality Control Supervisor’s absence

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience with food, especially fresh produce
  • >2 years warehouse experience
  • 1-2 years experience in a leadership role
  • Outstanding team player
  • Familiarity with food safety protocols
  • Literacy in basic technology, including inventory management systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
  • Efficient, with attention to detail
  • Willing to work in temperatures between 37-52 degrees
  • Able to lift 50lbs
