About The Position

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest level of quality inspection in our manufacturing processes particularly in fabrication and welding. This role involves managing a team of hourly employees, setting and achieving KPI goals, controlling costs, managing projects, and driving continuous process improvements. The Quality Control Manager will also handle employee conflicts, manage day-to-day workloads, and contribute to the long-term strategic goals of the company. Quality Management Daily Workload Management: Oversee the daily operations of the quality control department, ensuring that workloads are balanced, and tasks are completed efficiently. Cost Control: Manage and monitor budgets related to quality control activities, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards. Team Leadership and Supervision Managerial Leadership: Lead a team of hourly employees, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies. Project Management: Lead and manage quality-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all quality requirements. Employee Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts among employees in a fair and timely manner, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Welding and NDT Oversight Fabrication and Welding Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of fabrication and welding processes to ensure product quality and adherence to industry standards. Continuous Improvement KPI Goal Setting and Achievement: Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve quality, productivity, and efficiency within the manufacturing processes. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the manufacturing operation, and implement changes that enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Long-Term Goal Alignment: Collaborate with senior management to align quality control strategies with the company’s long-term objectives, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in a quality management role within the manufacturing industry, with specific experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Mobility in plant
  • Ability to lift at least 45 pounds
  • Office-based with periodic visits to manufacturing facilities, vendor locations, and construction sites.
  • Must be able to perform duties in an industrial environment, potentially involving exposure to noise, temperature variations, and heavy machinery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication and welding processes and standards.
  • Proven experience in setting and achieving KPI goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Experience in managing projects and driving process improvements.
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements in the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality.
