The QC Line Inspector is responsible for auditing production and packaging processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications. This includes monitoring product weights, checking color, odor, texture, seal integrity, and performing burst testing. The inspector will also check product codes, fill temperatures, and conduct quality checks. They are required to complete tear downs for each seamer head on the running seamer and notify the supervisor of any out-of-specification measurements after rechecking is confirmed. Documentation must be filled out as required, and information should be recorded on Quality log sheets and input into the Quality control computer at the QC station for further review. The inspector participates as a member of the team, contributing to the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. They coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings. The inspector is expected to foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues and accept responsibility for identifying areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader, and working supportively to resolve issues. Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems, including quality, security, and company policies, is essential. The position is intended to guide the activities of the QC Line Inspector but is not limited to the described functions. Physical activities include sitting, standing, and walking, and personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, and hair nets are required.
