About The Position

SUMMARY: The Quality Control/Safety Inspector ensures personnel follow applicable quality control (QC) and environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, directives, and standards pertaining to the performance of facility maintenance, alterations, repairs, preventive maintenance, service calls, and other services. Assists the QC Manager (QCM) and EHS Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring QC and EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual, federal, state, and local requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs QC/EHS inspections and audits on preventive maintenance processes, facility service calls, maintenance repairs, alterations, equipment configuration changes, custodial services, and other facility related tasks to ensure shop personnel and subcontractors follow approved maintenance and safety procedures and directives.• Ensures corrective and preventive action requirements are established and maintained for problem reporting and problem recurrence.• Ensures personnel performing assigned tasks are qualified and certified as required.• Documents corrective actions required when violations of approved practices and procedures are noted and performs follow up observations when necessary.• Works with the QCM and EHS Manager on QC and EHS related issues and concerns and matters pertaining to unsafe working conditions, emergencies, and equipment and personnel hazards.• Reviews maintenance documents, historical files, and inspection records to note any trends or recurring discrepancies for initiating corrective and preventive action plans.• Works with the QCM and EHS Manager in developing trend analysis data for preventive maintenance, services calls, maintenance repairs, and custodial services for process monitoring, problem reporting, and improvements to operations.• Works with shop personnel in performing QC inspections, early deficiency resolution, maintaining documentation, and controlling the quality of work execution.• Consolidates, prepares, and maintains a variety of QC/EHS correspondence and documentation related QC inspections, results, noted deficiencies, and preventive and corrective action plans.• Prepares QC and EHS reports summarizing QC and EHS inspection activities, initiatives taken to improve customer satisfaction, performance quality, and operational efficiency.• Assists the QCM in determining root causes of deficiencies as well as identifying remedial and preventive actions required to effect continual improvement.• Provides workforce QC/EHS training.• Works with shop personnel in developing Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated recent experience as a QC/Safety Inspector, preferably in a facilities maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EHS requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality assurance and safety principles, which include planning, program review, personnel certification and qualifications, corrective action and follow up action, audits, product quality, acceptance criteria, test and inspection operations, documentation control, maintenance operations, trend analysis development and monitoring, deficiency reporting and tracking.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills, problem solving skills, and demonstrate the ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Customer service focused and good time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and well organized.
  • Works independently, exercises sound judgment and considerable initiative to determine the approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
  • A solid understanding of micro-soft office suite products: Word, Excel, Power point, an understanding of Teams, share-point and virtual products, services and reports.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.

  • Department of State security clearance preferred.
