About The Position

The QC Chemist will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of compounded pharmaceuticals by performing a variety of testing and quality control activities. This role is critical in supporting compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and other regulatory requirements specific to the compounding industry.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and rigorous attention to detail, with a deep understanding of 503B FDA guidelines and USP standards.
  • They must be highly capable of navigating a heavily regulated compounding pharmacy environment, ensuring strict compliance across all documentation, testing protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with analytical method development and validation.
  • Prior experience investigating out-of-specification (OOS) results and executing CAPA processes.
  • A proven track record of supporting complex internal and external regulatory audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement new testing technologies to improve quality control processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute analytical testing (potency, sterility, endotoxins, and stability) on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished compounded products.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation, including test results, batch records, and regulatory paperwork to ensure full traceability.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to laboratory equipment, testing methods, or products.
  • Investigate deviations and out-of-specification (OOS) results, actively assisting with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and investigations by providing required documentation and test results.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with current regulatory standards.
