Position Summary: The QA/QC Field Engineer – OSM is responsible for leading quality control efforts for offsite manufacturing (OSM) scopes. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role inspects work during all project phases—including preconstruction, offsite fabrication, onsite installation, commissioning, and punch list—ensuring compliance with project requirements and quality standards. The QA/QC Field Engineer works closely with design professionals, clients, trade contractors, and craftspeople to identify, prevent, and resolve technical issues, driving projects toward successful completion.

  • Schedule and coordinate inspections with trade partners and associated personnel.
  • Perform quality inspections for assigned scopes (mechanical, electrical, utilities, civil/architectural/structural, commissioning, etc.) during offsite fabrication/manufacturing and onsite installations.
  • Attend and provide updates in QA/QC Meetings, OSM Meetings, and Quality Team Meetings.
  • Verify that fabricators/manufacturers follow approved quality steps and inspection procedures.
  • Collaborate with fabricators/manufacturers to develop or improve quality procedures that ensure the highest product standards before shipment.
  • Ensure all trade contractors comply with their approved QA/QC Plans.
  • Confirm that all work is installed in accordance with project documents, codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Perform offsite and onsite inspections of Owner Furnished Equipment.
  • Support resolution of quality-related issues and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Minimum two (2) years of construction QA/QC experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in offsite manufacturing and inspection (or related).
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with network-based systems.
  • Competency with field management software (BIM360 Field, Procore, Latista, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and quality standards.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with owners, trade contractors, and team members.
  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal instruction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb stairs and walk long distances.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for computer and document handling.
  • Visual acuity across near, mid, and far ranges; includes color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Hearing sufficient for in-person conversation, video/phone calls, radios, and equipment alarms.
  • Speech clarity for group presentations and communications across various media.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Minimal bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Requires constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute work independently while exercising creativity, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; ability to interpret construction-related documents and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Applicants must be able to pass the Hoffman Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Certified Weld Inspector (preferred).
  • Mechanical trade contractor experience (preferred).
  • Experience with high-purity systems - plastics and stainless (preferred).
  • Commissioning experience (preferred).
  • Electrical knowledge and experience (preferred).
