The QA Technologist is responsible for inspecting, analyzing, and verifying incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
Follow all Redbarn policies and procedures.
Perform product inspections during the receiving and production process.
Report any issues or irregularities to the QA Supervisor and QA Manager.
Monitor and maintain calibration of all QA lab equipment.
Monitor and maintain validation of scales and metal detectors.
Perform audits.
Prepare samples for submission to the micro lab.
Adhere to FDA and USDA rules and regulations.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous work experience is a plus.
An associate degree or some college with direct quality experience is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software is required.
Understanding of lab practices.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
