About The Position

This position is responsible for conducting day-to-day analyses to provide information and assist with Packaging material, product and process quality decisions. Assist with analysis of packaging quality issues to determine if cause is related to process, equipment or materials and take appropriate action. Support essential quality testing performed by operators by maintaining equipment and instruments, providing oversight and making sure supporting documentation is relevant and up to date. This position will operate under the guidance and direction of more experienced personnel. The position is a 5 day-per-week daytime position that will include weekend, holiday, and off-shift work to support the 24 / 7 brewing facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field or packaging technology, or equivalent training and work-related experience
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft office: Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Appropriate working knowledge of beer packaging and related quality procedures

Responsibilities

  • Collect product/process samples and conduct appropriate analysis per SOPs/Work Instructions
  • Escalate non-routine packaging material or finished product issues to the Packaging QA Scientist and assist with communication to suppliers and internal personnel under the direction of the Packaging QA Scientist
  • Conduct analysis of data, provide opinion, take appropriate action, and document results
  • Develop good working rapport, communicate with, and be present periodically on all packaging shifts
  • Operate and maintain all appropriate equipment and instruments
  • Order supplies, ship samples, and maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and lab ware
  • Provide feedback for improvement of process/method
  • Support quality improvement experiments/projects as assigned by senior team members
  • Support training of operators and assist in maintaining training documents
