As a QA Technician, you will perform administrative and laboratory duties established by the QA Manager. This position requires an individual willing to follow all established regulations, company policies, and cross-train in laboratory equipment, methods, procedures, and sensory evaluations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Associate degree in science
  • Ability to make mathematical computations
  • Ability to work off shift, and weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in laboratory setting a plus
  • Chemistry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples, operate laboratory instrumentation and report results
  • Create, distribute, and maintain Certificates of Analysis
  • Create internal specification sheets
  • Coordinate required testing with third party lab, including creating and distributing transmittal testing forms
  • Ensures proper storage, organization, and disposal of retain samples
  • File laboratory paperwork and understand multiple filing systems
  • Train in preparing and performing sensory (organoleptic) evaluations
  • Train in performing chemical and physical analyses on various samples, including raw material, intermediate and finished products. Tests include but are not limited to visual inspections, specific gravity, refractive index, flashpoint, brix, pH, moisture, etc.
  • Enter and look up information in different databases
  • Reports out of specification results in a timely manner to responsible individuals and departments.
  • Train in any applicable laboratory instrument calibration activities.
  • Follow established Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices including use of PPE.
  • Assist with general lab upkeep; Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Any other reasonable duty assigned by management
