About The Position

The Quality Technician will perform any number of tasks relating to the inspection and measurement of in-process and finished goods to ensure they meet our Internal Quality Standards and our Customer’s Quality Standards.

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in the Quality Field as a Technician, Inspector, SPC Coordinator, or Quality Lead Person.
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Office, Mechanical Inspection, Blueprint reading (GD&T), SPC data, CAD Software, Gauge Calibration, Military Standards, Machining knowledge, Visual Comparators, CMM.
  • SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND REQUIREMENTS: Duties are performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Lifting to 50 lbs. Hearing protection and eye protection are required and provided on the manufacturing floor. Safety-toe footwear must comply with ANSI Standard ANSI Z41-1991 (see policy), no loose clothing, hair, or accessories. Observe all safety regulations of the department and the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize blueprints and other customer-supplied documents to check conformity of product to geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
  • Perform inspection of set-up, in process, and final piece parts. Effectively communicate discrepancies to appropriate areas.
  • Gather SPC data and determine process capability.
  • Maintain quality control standards and procedures. Instruct operators when necessary.
  • Communicate opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain all fixtures and tooling in the QC Department.
  • Attend training courses or seminars and assist project teams when required.
  • Resolve quality issues with customers and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Responsible for source inspection and customer audits.
