Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of QA Technician at their Villa Rica 1 facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia. The position involves working on a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3/2 schedule. The pay ranges from $17.56 to $26.35 per hour depending on experience, with an additional night shift premium of $2.50 per hour. Responsibilities include performing various quality assurance tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications.

  • Understand appropriate test method and equipment to perform all required testing (and sampling) as specified by internal and external customers.
  • Perform check-out of each job in Press and Laminating to include specifications, film types, job jacket, etc.
  • Perform visual check on all samples representing material produced on shift.
  • Accurately entering data into PRISM for retention and reporting.
  • Perform accurate calibration checks of all equipment.
  • Responsible for creating hold tags for defective material and ensuring rolls are tagged for proper identification.
  • Daily use of the X-rite software and spectrophotometer.
  • Maintain department 5S standards including housekeeping and stocking supplies.
  • Daily filing of job jackets.
  • Fire Crew responsibilities include closing fire doors.
  • Being well versed in customer specifications and knowing how to identify structures for comparison to the proper spec.
  • Effective communication of results to the Laminating and Press Operators as well as Department Leads.
  • Use of PRISM screens to obtain job/production information.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent time management skills are a must.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Ability to interpret measurement data (measurements and charts).
  • Must be able to pass Ishihara color test.
  • Must be able to pass the Munsell Color Hue test.
  • Internal Candidates: Last performance review must have been 'Performer' or better. No disciplinary actions beyond a verbal within the past 120 days. Must have been in current position for at least 120 days.
