About The Position

Follows policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations | Follows and/ or develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes through standard procedures & systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 & AS9100 standards), quality audits/ review process, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines Impact of the Role General Profile Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines Works with close supervision Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Technical expertise.
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information.
  • Research skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Responsibilities

  • Define and specify activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for materials, components, or products.
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
  • Identifies and addresses any issues with equipment performance.
  • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
  • Reporting and troubleshooting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods
  • Conducts tests on materials or samples to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
