About The Position

The QA Technician position at SEWS involves following up with inspections and sorting of finished goods (FG) materials. The technician will work closely with the sorting company to provide good instructions and sorting methods, ensuring that all safety rules are adhered to by QA members and the sorting company. Responsibilities include developing standards or visual aids and reports for sorting purposes, assisting during ISO/TS internal and external audits, and proposing changes to improve process efficiency and accuracy. The role requires close contact with manufacturing plants in Mexico for feedback on quality issues and ensuring that FG material conditions meet customer requirements. The technician will also judge good and no good parts using measurement tools and repair defects based on skill level, support material handlers in moving materials using a forklift, perform tear down inspections on wire harnesses, and undertake any other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred
  • Available to travel between the US and Mexico, Valid Passport needed
  • Excellent dimensional skill and detail-oriented
  • Basic knowledge of the international metric system and usage of measurement instruments (measure tape, caliper, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel
  • Disposition to work overtime on short notice
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in similar Quality Assurance duties and ISO/TS16949 preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follow up with the inspections and sorting of FG materials
  • Work closely with the sorting company for good instructions and sorting methods
  • Observe and ensure all safety rules are followed by QA members and sorting company
  • Develop standard or visual aid and reports for sorting purposes
  • Help during the ISO/TS internal and external audits
  • Propose changes on ways and procedures to make the process more efficient and accurate
  • Maintain close contact with manufacturing plants in Mexico for feedback on quality issues
  • Ensure FG material conditions are correctly identified and meet all customer requirements
  • Judge good and no good parts using measurement tools and repair defects based on skill level/hierarchy
  • Support material handlers to move material using forklift
  • Perform the Tear Down Inspection to the wire harnesses
  • Complete all other duties assigned
