Astrix Technology Group is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join their team in Fullerton, CA. This position is crucial in ensuring that the company's food safety and quality standards are met consistently. The Quality Assurance Technician will work the 3rd shift, from Sunday through Thursday, 10 PM to 6:30 AM, and will be compensated at a rate of $22 to $25 per hour. The role involves a variety of responsibilities that are essential to maintaining the integrity of the food production process. The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for carrying out Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to food safety and quality. This includes document control, scanning documents, filing, data entry, and conducting lab work while maintaining a presence on the production floor. The technician will perform pre-operational and operational sanitation plant inspections, conduct ATP and environmental swabs, and carry out chemical and physical analyses of products both in-process and finished. This includes testing for pH, water activity, total acidity, consistency, viscosity, color, and organoleptic properties as necessary. In addition to these tasks, the technician will check the calibration of plant equipment such as thermometers and scales, manage laboratory equipment and materials, and implement operational safety guidelines. They will also be responsible for verifying plant temperatures in coolers, freezers, processing rooms, and warehouses, ensuring conformance to specifications through daily formula and specifications performance reviews, and conducting daily processing and packaging process reviews. The technician will perform daily HACCP verifications and review records, verify inventory rotation of raw materials, work in-process, and finished products, and conduct daily metal detector verifications. The role also involves label verification and approval, daily review and reconciliation of all QA/QC records, including HACCP and net weight, and preparing and distributing HOLD reports. The technician will compile information and create reports, perform data entry in the Deacom ERP system, and interface with USDA inspectors to report any discrepancies. They will recommend corrective actions and preventative measures to improve plant sanitation, employee hygienic practices, and product safety standards. The technician will assist the QA Manager in continuous improvement efforts and ensure that all department personnel adhere to established procedures, work instructions, forms, tools, and equipment. Additionally, they will create and maintain accurate inspection files and prepare reports summarizing inspection results, as well as conduct employee training to promote hygienic handling of products and compliance with HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs.
