About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining inspection logs and performing several different tests to guarantee only the highest quality product is being produced. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to eat eggs to perform identity testing by using organoleptic skills (odor, taste, appearance).
  • Ability to follow and comply with company GMP policies.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect product off the line to check appearance, temperature, package integrity, samples for lab submission and retains
  • Complete Quality checks at the established frequency
  • Ensures the labels and product date and type is correct
  • Report any detected abnormalities to the Lead, Supervisors or Operators.
  • Report any holds to quality and production management
  • Perform raw material and packaging receiving verifications
  • Calibrate pH meter, and thermometers to ensure equipment is accurate. Follow-up on defective product.
  • Perform swabbing program, Pre-OPP inspection including ATP testing, organoleptic testing, monitor pH. greening, metal detectors check, sanitizer concentration checks
  • Monitor label declared weights on products produced.
  • Foster open communications with all departments.
  • Ensures that finished product and pails are properly sealed and clean
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Participate in GMP and facility inspections
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Quality of MFI products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to company Good Manufacturing Practices, customer specifications, and internal product specifications at all times.
  • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
