  • Operates the extruder line.
  • Observes product and materials on line to assure proper production.
  • Performs visual check of product to assure uniformity and lack of flaws.
  • Weighs a sample of product to assure proper weight.
  • Performs impact test with dart impact tester.
  • Performs warpage test with gap gauge.
  • Visually checks raw product usage to assure proper mixture of production.
  • Assures proper labels are on the shipping containers.
  • Changes filters in the production machinery.
  • Assures packers are wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Performs data entry, tracking and label printing with BMS system.
  • Cleans area.
  • Wipes grease from drum roll stand.
  • Sweeps raw material, refuse, and dust from the floor.
  • Cleans packing tables with envirocide.
  • Sets up at beginning of shift.
  • Communicates with previous shift operator to establish line operation over the previous shift and any maintenance issues.
  • Communicates with packers to assure that they know proper sleeve count and packing procedures.
  • Samples weights of product to assure proper production.
  • Performs machine readings including grease levels, vision system, water in extruder, temperatures, moisture levels, material levels in hoppers.
  • Weighs flake (scrap) to sample thru-put material with production.
