They are directly involved in the production of the quality of the injection and blowmold product with an advanced understanding of visual inspection techniques using various lab equipment and methods. They have direct involvement in the Quality department and plant employee training and development. Reporting Relationship Quality Manager Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions Fully involved with the local management team. Provides technical input, solutions and direction to improve and maintain the Quality systems in the plant. Directly supervises the Quality Assurance technicians insuring a motivated, skilled workforce. Assesses skills and recommends or provides training to ensure department personnel are technically competent to perform at a high level. 3. Collect and evaluate Injection and Blowmold product by using various inspection techniques and equipment. 4. Properly report findings and actions taken to ensure that customers’ specifications are met. This includes communicating effectively any quality deviations to internal and external customers in a timely manner according to Company policy. 5. Alert Management of potential quality problems to assure that defective product or raw materials are not used or shipped to the customer. 6. Assist with timely inspection of all incoming materials, purchased or sample materials, in-process materials, reworked materials and finished goods through the use of visual inspection, sampling, SPC and laboratory instrumentation. 7. Demonstrates organizational ability to complete daily assignments as required to meet internal and external customer requirements in a concise detailed manner. 8. Provide training to employees in other departments regarding quality as needed. 9. Enter required data on-line with minimal errors. 10. Audit and maintain accurate records for product capability and traceability. 11. Perform containments, visit customers and monitor production as needed. 12. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor “No Injuries Safety Contract” and as trained. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and Supervisors. Properly uses all required personal protective equipment. 13. Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean-up assignments, and adequately maintain good housekeeping throughout the entire area of responsibility. 14. Directly responsible for the proper support to the Quality Assurance Technicians and all other team members to ensure a positive team environment. 15. Performs other related duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager. Authorization • The Quality Lead Technician has the ability to shut down and/or stop equipment if continued operation is a threat to any employee’s health and safety • Recommend Staff stop production for unacceptable quality • Recommend Staff quarantine out-of-specification products, materials or supplies • Contact any member of Management without fear of reprisal concerning questions, suggestions, or complaints regarding quality, working conditions or job environment Job Specifications and Requirements 1. Education and Experience: a. High school diploma or equivalent preferred b. Previous quality assurance and manufacturing work experience is required 2. Physical Requirements: This is a light physical demand job a. Employees must be able to work overtime, weekends and nights. b. Occasionally lift and carry up to 10 pounds. c. Employees are required to stand / walk on concrete floors. d. Employees are required to bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations. e. Must have the ability to see close (at 20 inches or less) and distance vision (20 feet or more). Ability to differentiate colors and good peripheral vision. 3. Required Safety Equipment: a.
