The QA Tech Hatchery SW position involves providing analytical support of products to management at the Pineville, MO location. The role includes managing sample retention, monitoring housekeeping, producing weekly audit reviews, and validating formulations based on recommendations from nutritionists. The position also requires reconciling theoretical versus actual usage of ingredients to identify out-of-tolerance situations and ensure accurate batching. Additionally, the QA Tech will monitor FDA requirements, reconcile FDA controlled drugs, and maintain necessary files as prescribed by the FDA. The role includes producing daily and monthly reports summarizing aspects of quality and participating as a member of the team to foster cohesiveness and implement best practices.

  • Manage sample retention and all aspects of sample management.
  • Monitor housekeeping and produce weekly audit reviews.
  • Validate and manage all formulations and make necessary adjustments based on recommendations from nutritionists.
  • Reconcile theoretical vs. actual usage on all ingredients to identify out-of-tolerance situations.
  • Compile and understand reporting.
  • Monitor FDA requirements and reconcile FDA controlled drugs and micro ingredients.
  • Perform sampling, obtain assays, and maintain files as prescribed by FDA.
  • Produce daily reports to identify out of tolerance situations.
  • Obtain mixer profile, send to lab, and report.
  • Test product quality and size.
  • Produce a monthly report summarizing aspects of quality.
  • Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts.
  • Coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
  • Attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues.
  • Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Perform basic math skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Preference for experience in poultry or food processing organization.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
