About The Position

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a QA Tech 1 at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. This role will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining product quality across all departments of the site. This role ensures compliance with internal standards and customer specifications by conducting inspections, analyzing data, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role will report to the Technical Director. The wage for this role is $26.88 per hour. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A current resume or detailed education and work history is required for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality control/assurance experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineered wood products and grading standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Product Quality Monitoring:
  • Perform routine inspections and quality checks on products at the Press, MLP, and TJI areas.
  • Use grading equipment and visual inspection techniques to assess product quality and identify defects.
  • Record and report quality data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure all products meet internal and external quality standards, and all customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in audits and compliance reviews as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • When appropriate, participate in root cause analysis, continuous improvement teams, and corrective action processes.
  • Recommend improvement to processes, equipment, and procedures to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Support training efforts for production staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
