We are looking for a QA Systems Engineer to own and evolve a critical engineering lab environment that supports product development, testing, and validation. This role combines infrastructure ownership with hands-on QA engineering, acting as “Customer Zero” to ensure product quality in real-world scenarios before release. You’ll work across cloud and on-prem environments, collaborate with multiple engineering teams, and play a key role in ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3–7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud management, software testing, or QA engineering
  • Strong experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies
  • Proven ability to design and execute backend, end-to-end, security, and performance tests
  • Solid troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating test plans, strategies, scopes, and automation frameworks
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies (black box, white box, gray box, test design, execution)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC best practices
  • Experience writing SQL queries for backend validation (MySQL, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts (SNMP, MIBs, clustering)
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Ansible, REST APIs)
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and testing tools (e.g., Codex, Tabnine, Claude) to improve test design, automation, and troubleshooting efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing across Linux, Windows, and macOS environments
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestCafe, BDD)
  • Ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with hardware or software-defined simulation tools
  • Strong project planning and resource coordination skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate testing activities across shared lab resources and multiple engineering teams
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize lab infrastructure used for development and testing
  • Deploy and upgrade applications across lab environments and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Develop and maintain simulators and mock devices to support internal testing needs
  • Partner with QA leads to review and approve test plans and UAT standards
  • Design and execute backend, end-to-end, security, and performance tests
  • Generate and present reports (defect, execution, summary) for Product and Engineering stakeholders
  • Identify, provision, and scale resources to ensure lab reliability and performance
  • Conduct scale testing and capacity planning analysis
