Launched in 2021, our chef-crafted veggie burgers are available nationally in about 12,000 retail doors including Whole Foods, Sprouts, Kroger, and Albertsons/Safeway. As we expand to new categories with our innovation, we’re on the fast track for exponential growth and looking forward to being a power player in bringing real food and real ingredients to more households. What You Will Do Reporting to the Director of Operations, the QA Specialist will play a key role in supporting food safety, quality, and compliance across all products, working closely with Operations to maintain accurate records and strengthen quality systems.

Requirements

  • Coursework or experience in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Culinary Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with food safety principles (HACCP, GMPs, FSMA).
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TraceGains and/or Genesis strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (FSQMS).
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain current certifications up to date (Gluten Free, Glyphosate Free, Kosher, Vegan, and Non GMO)
  • Assist with document control, SOP updates, and recordkeeping to ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, and internal standards.
  • Review and approve production and quality documentation, including batch records, specifications, and certificates of analysis.
  • Enter/maintain information accurately in systems/applications as necessary to support operations and the overall life cycle of documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams to implement and ensure adherence to appropriate regulations and quality standards.
  • Consistent monitoring and investigation of production processes and customer communications to identify issues and recommend corrections.
  • Organization of printed materials with version controls and track channels among all levels of packaging
  • Manage and assist quality onboarding with new grocery supermarket vendors
  • Collect routine internal audits, environmental monitoring, and GMP verifications.
  • Quality Control – evaluate and validate the product during production.
  • Travel to co-packers and manufacturing partners to support audits, onboarding, process improvements, and hands-on quality investigations
  • Enter, update, and maintain supplier documentation, specifications, COAs, and formulation data in TraceGains.
  • Manage ingredient and nutritional data using ESHA Genesis to generate nutrition facts panels, allergen statements, and formulation reports.
  • Verify accuracy of ingredient statements, nutritional outputs, and regulatory compliance for new and existing products packaging.
