About The Position

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA -accredited independent ele ct rical testing and engineering organization specializing in ele ct rical acce pt ance testing, commissioning, and maintenance for clients across Data Centers, Utility, Ge neration, Renewables, Transit, Industrial and Commercial Facilities throughout North America. We are committed to safety, technical expertise, and setting the standard of excellence in the power industry. EPS is seeking an energetic and motivated QA/QC Technician. The right candidate will have extensive experience in SCADA, RTU, HMI design and programming. This person must be capable of troubleshooting and analyzing network and communication problems. This person will also be experienced in commissioning/testing at an electrical substation level consisting of relay testing, programming, functional testing and in-service readings.

Requirements

  • Computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications, functional knowledge of SAP, Meridium or other business enterprise software; and AutoCAD experience.
  • Superior analytical skills to identify key issues based on relevant data and provide appropriate solutions/recommendations.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information requiring detailed explanation and interpretation to engineers, contractors, and operations, personnel.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals, and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to set priorities and organize workload.

Responsibilities

  • Involved with reliability engineering support activities for instrumentation in troubleshooting, determining root cause of field instrumentation failures, and with different data acquisition systems.
  • Participates in developing technically sound reliability solutions for instrumentation MOC items and/or field changes.
  • Assists reliability engineers with the execution of MOCs.
  • Assists the reliability engineers with development of maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures for field instrumentation, control valves, and specialty equipment such as slide valves.
  • Assists reliability engineers in developing condition monitoring and failure predictive systems.
  • Supports and assists in maintaining a PM library.
  • Assists reliability engineers in incident investigations related to field instrumentation or control valves.
  • Contributes to finding root cause and solutions for mitigation of potential future failures.
  • Acts as reliability mentor for instrument maintenance technicians.
  • Assist in developing training procedures for operations, instrument technicians, and assessments for instrument technicians.
  • Participates in audits and resulting recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements for conditions of high maintainability costs, obsolescence, loss of vendor support, or other reliability issues.
  • Participates in instrumentation, control valves, and any complex instrument device factory acceptance tests (FAT), or site acceptance tests (SAT) as required.
