The primary objective of the department in which this position operates is to efficiently and effectively inspect all Maui Jim and Zeal plano and Rx products to ensure compliance with ANSI and Maui Jim standards. As a QA/QC Technician, you will be responsible for conducting quality control inspections on all products, utilizing QA equipment to verify quality assurance. You will follow established procedures to ensure proper operation of equipment and inspection of products, managing the flow of lenses and trays through the QA process, which involves handling approximately 225 orders per shift with a target return ratio of less than 0.15. In this role, you will multi-task to maintain an efficient production flow while minimizing breakage. You will collaborate with all Rx departments to achieve our mutual goals of high production, low spoilage, customer satisfaction, and high quality. Troubleshooting production delays, monitoring equipment maintenance, and ensuring cleanliness in the quality assurance area are also key responsibilities. Additionally, you will verify physical and system inventory counts of incoming and outgoing products, utilize AQL frame sampling plans, and log frame defects in the Fiori program. Your duties will also include analyzing defects to determine if they can be repaired, using frame heaters for reworking frames, switching out lenses, and using a frame polisher to address frame defects. Documentation of inspected products in SAP, including restricting defective items from inventory or releasing them for picking, is essential. This position operates on a first shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with an hourly wage starting at $18.00.
