This position plays an important role in ensuring that all electrical work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, company standards, and applicable code requirements. The individual in this role will help verify that work is properly completed during fabrication, that deficiencies are identified early, and that all final products are inspected and documented before release and shipment. This position is especially important in the shop environment, where attention to detail, consistency, and proper verification are critical to preventing errors from being carried into the field. The QA/QC Specialist – Electrical will work closely with production, supervision, engineering, and shipping personnel to help maintain quality throughout the full fabrication and delivery process. The overall objective of this role is to help ensure that electrical units and assemblies are built correctly, inspected thoroughly, documented properly, and shipped in full compliance with company expectations and project requirements. This position is intended to strengthen shop quality control, reduce rework, improve consistency, and help deliver a complete and reliable product.

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical work, electrical fabrication, electrical installation, or a related trade environment
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes, inspections, and documentation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, one-lines, specifications, and submittals
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize incomplete work, inconsistencies, and potential quality issues
  • Understanding of applicable electrical standards, code requirements, and safe work practices
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to document findings clearly and maintain accurate inspection records
  • Ability to work effectively with shop personnel, supervisors, and support departments in a fast-paced production environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a QA/QC role supporting electrical fabrication, modular construction, manufacturing, or shop production
  • Familiarity with final inspections, release processes, and shipping verification
  • Experience with punch lists, non-conformance tracking, rework follow-up, and corrective actions
  • General computer proficiency and ability to work with internal documentation or tracking systems
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of electrical assemblies, components, and fabricated units to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, and company quality standards.
  • Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, and related project documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify that electrical components are installed correctly and that assemblies are properly labeled, identified, organized, and complete prior to final release
  • Inspect workmanship and overall quality of fabrication to ensure that finished products meet company expectations and project requirements
  • Identify errors, deficiencies, missing components, or non-conforming work during fabrication and prior to shipment
  • Coordinate with shop personnel, supervisors, and other departments to ensure that quality issues are corrected in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, punch items, checklists, and other required documentation
  • Support final quality verification before shipment to confirm that units are complete, properly documented, and ready for delivery
  • Verify that shipping documentation, tags, labels, and related turnover information are correct and in order prior to release
  • Help monitor recurring quality issues and assist in improving shop processes to reduce rework and prevent repeat deficiencies
  • Promote a strong quality-focused mindset within the shop and help ensure that no preventable errors leave the facility
  • Communicate clearly with production and management regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and final inspection status
