QA/QC Piping Inspector To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. QA/QC Piping Inspector must have experience doing UTT thickness readings, and PTs , and may require an API-570 for piping inspection, will inspect, test, and sample products, materials, or parts, for deviations and defects from specifications. The inspector will reject anything that does not meet company standards. A QA or QC inspector will observe production operations and equipment to ensure that specifications are being met and to make or order necessary adjustments to processes or assemblies. Attention to detail is essential to the job to detect defects that could be easily missed by the customer but still present a safety risk, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is necessary. An inspector should be able to interpret blueprints and other drawings that detail product specifications. Experience with measuring tools is required as well.

Requirements

  • QA/QC Piping Inspector must have experience doing UTT thickness readings, and PTs , and may require an API-570 for piping inspection

  • NCCER
  • a valid Driver's License
  • a TWIC
  • 5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily construction surveillance at the project site, including welding, structural, and civil inspections.
  • Inspect, test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications.
  • Reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Observe and report construction progress.
  • Writes daily reports based on observations made.
  • Reports discrepancies to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
  • Coordinates code compliance inspections per client specifications and State laws.
  • Maps welds to be performed.
  • Effectively interfaces with client QA personnel.
