About The Position

The Mission Critical Center of Excellence manages billions of dollars in projects annually, specializing in data center and mission-critical construction for leading technology and telecommunications clients across the United States. The Construction QA/QC Manager position is a primary role where an individual is directly responsible for the implementation and management of applicable quality control plan(s) as directed by the General Manager on a company-wide, division-wide or project-wide basis, to assure work performed by Suffolk Construction and its subcontractors is performed in compliance with applicable specifications, plans and governmental requirements from project commencement through close o ut (and commissioning, if applicable).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management or demonstrated equivalent field.
  • 5 plus years of experience in related construction fields.
  • Solid understanding of means and methods of construction
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry
  • Working knowledge of national and State code and quality regulations/standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Corporate Quality Management Program across all areas of the business and ensure compliance.
  • Expand and Develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project.
  • Assist with the creation of project specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of plan for each project.
  • Assist with the development of Quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross-functionally with operations to address any trends.
  • Manage a team of Quality Managers and/or professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site specific quality planning.
  • Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
  • Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
  • Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including: ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
  • Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department Staff, and Subcontractors.
  • Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality.
  • Keep the Company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards.
  • Represent Suffolk with Owners, Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, trade partners, and the Suffolk project team members.
