The QA/QC Inspector for the Solar Pipeline in Gainestown, Alabama, is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of materials, equipment, and installations according to Wanzek or Client specifications. This role involves performing inspections, generating reports, and maintaining documentation to confirm satisfactory completion of inspection activities, all while promoting safety and quality standards on large-scale construction projects.

  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily activities on large scale wind, solar, and industrial projects.
  • Conduct inspections on various project activities including roads, environmental aspects, excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking and PV installation, and more.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Plan and conduct daily activities in an organized manner to ensure accurate recording of QC and QA data.
  • Monitor and record all work scope being executed and follow reporting criteria as determined by FQM and/or the client.
  • Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspections.
  • Detect and address deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with field quality staff to ensure understanding and adherence to QA/QC requirements.
  • Maintain open communication with field supervision regarding job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections for permanent documentation.
  • Establish punch lists based on inspections.
  • Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
  • Ensure daily task schedules are met to align with project timelines.
  • Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field, or High School Graduate (GED) with 1-3 years of experience in a related construction field.
  • Inspection related certifications, such as NDE, preferred.
  • Ability to independently perform work and take personal responsibility for health and safety.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
  • Proficient in writing daily reports and documenting project activities.
  • Ability to effectively collect and record field data to ensure compliance with Quality Control procedures.
  • Ability to implement the quality control program for assigned project tasks.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
