This is an engineering role responsible for executing quality control activities at fabrication shop for microelectronics capital projects. The Shop QC Engineer position needs an experienced professional expertise to secure expected quality of our product as well as being a forward-thinking as a microelectronics QC member. Ensuring a high-quality product is produced the first time with little rework or delays will be top priority.

  • Execute all day-to-day quality control activities of microelectronics products.
  • Assist QC Manager in preparing detailed Quality control plans, processes, and procedures for engineering, sub-contractor etc. to use and abide by and obtain the project manager and shop QC manager approval.
  • Assist QC Manager in preparing a comprehensive inspection test plans to match quality requirements.
  • Monitor and control all inspections and tests conducted for the project builds.
  • Manage day-to-day activities for inspections scheduling.
  • Issue and control Non-Conformance Reports in a timely manner.
  • Execute corrective and preventive actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Prepare correctness of all build documentation prior to build time.
  • Ensure that the final products are in accordance with client and Project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project team members, suppliers, and contractor pro-actively.
  • Travel to suppliers for QC inspections (20-25%)
  • 3+ years of experience with the QC practices, and procedures for welding and steel product for oil and gas, aerospace or water treatment equipment.
  • Experience high purity products for semiconductor.
  • Demonstrated disciplined behavior as a QC engineer.
  • Proven ability of forward-thinking for quality control and assurance.
  • Proven ability to provide accurate and timely reporting to manager.
  • Experienced with Adobe acrobat, MS office, power point, Excel.
  • Some knowledge in ISO 9001 is a plus.
  • Experience in semiconductor, knowledge in code book such as, ASME, (ASME B31.1 and B31.3 must) AWS D1.1, ASTM.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and dimensions.
  • Ability to review welding documents such as WPS, PQR, WQTR.
  • Ability to use inspection tools.
  • Bluebeam Software preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) American Welding Society (AWS)
