About The Position

Under the direction of the QA/QC Section lead, the Manufacturing QA/QC apprentice works to implement and maintain the Mesa manufacturing quality assurance/quality control program. The manufacturing QA/QC apprentice inspects skilled/technical tasks performed by Manufacturing Technicians, documents and reports findings to the Manufacturing Foreman and Manufacturing Leads. The Manufacturing QA/QC Apprentice performs inspections of all support functions in Manufacturing; making corrections to technicians, processes and performs on-the-spot training as necessary for required tasks/technicians.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • Less than 1 year of experience as a Manufacturing Technician I.
  • Ability to obtain Crane and Forklift Certifications by the end of the probationary period. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Assists in implementing and maintaining the manufacturing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program under the direction of the QA/QC Section Lead.
  • Performs all essential duties of the Manufacturing Technician, ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Inspects skilled and technical tasks performed by Manufacturing Technicians, documenting findings and reporting issues for corrective action.
  • Conducts inspections of manufacturing support functions, identifying deviations and initiating immediate corrections.
  • Provides on-the-spot training and guidance to technicians to reinforce quality standards, procedural compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains accountability for inventory, tools, and Mesa equipment, ensuring proper use, storage, and readiness.
  • Builds and sustains professional relationships both within and outside the chain of command to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinates with manufacturing leads to ensure operational proficiency, efficiency, and mission-aligned manufacturing performance.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for all safety training and support functions, promoting adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of engine Control systems and other program logic controls that are associated with IC power generation.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout Procedures.
  • Knowledge of appropriate electrical and mechanical personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Skilled in maintaining records manually and electronically.
  • Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings and prints.
  • Able to follow applicable state and national regulations; safety guidelines; and procedures.
  • Able handle heavy objects.
  • Able to operate cranes and forklifts.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree, The degree must be from an accredited university or must have completed or have the ability to complete Mesa Leadership 101 course.
  • 1 year of experience as a Manufacturing Technician I.
  • Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect skilled and technical tasks performed by Manufacturing Technicians, verifying compliance with quality standards.
  • Document inspection findings and report to Manufacturing Foreman and Leads for corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections of all manufacturing support functions, identifying deviations and implementing immediate corrections.
  • Provide on-the-spot training to technicians to uphold quality and procedural compliance.
  • Maintain accountability for inventory, tools, and Mesa equipment, ensuring proper use and availability.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships across and outside the chain of command to support effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with other manufacturing leads to ensure proficiency and efficiency in manufacturing processes aligned with mission goals.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on all safety training and support functions, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and best practices.
  • All other duties assigned.
