About The Position

Inspection and QA/QC Expert We are seeking experienced Inspection and QA/QC Experts at various levels to support upcoming Triangle opportunities. We are building a team of qualified professionals to ensure quality standards and compliance across various upcoming infrastructure projects. Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting inspections, reviewing submittals, verifying compliance with specifications, and documenting quality control activities. Experience Areas (candidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply): Marine and port facilities Transportation and roadway infrastructure Utility and stormwater systems Bridge and structural rehabilitation Environmental compliance and multi-agency coordination Experience Levels and Requirements: Junior Level (3+ years of experience): Field inspection experience on infrastructure projects Knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures Familiarity with project specifications and quality standards Experience documenting inspection activities and non-conformances Understanding of basic construction safety requirements Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Mid Level (8+ years of experience): Direct responsibility for quality assurance and quality control programs Proficiency in reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications Experience coordinating testing and inspection activities Strong knowledge of industry standards and specifications (ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, AWS) Ability to identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions Experience preparing inspection reports and quality documentation Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements Senior Level (15+ years of experience): Comprehensive expertise in complex QA/QC program development and implementation Expert-level knowledge of codes, standards, and specifications across multiple disciplines Extensive experience managing inspection teams and third-party testing agencies Advanced understanding of quality management systems and best practices Leadership in resolving complex quality and compliance issues Strong collaboration with owners, contractors, and regulatory agencies Experience with dispute resolution and non-conformance investigations Ability to develop quality control plans and inspection protocols

Requirements

  • Industry standards and codes (ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, AWS, applicable building codes)
  • Material testing procedures and acceptance criteria
  • Construction inspection techniques and documentation requirements
  • Regulatory compliance and permitting processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required (minimum).
  • Field inspection experience on infrastructure projects (Junior Level, 3+ years of experience)
  • Knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures (Junior Level, 3+ years of experience)
  • Familiarity with project specifications and quality standards (Junior Level, 3+ years of experience)

Nice To Haves

  • ACI Certification (Concrete Field Testing Technician, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, etc.)
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • NICET Certification (Construction Materials Testing, Transportation Engineering, etc.)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
  • Other relevant inspection and quality certifications
  • Prior federal contracting experience is a plus.
