About The Position

The Quality Assurance Nurse plays a critical role in enhancing the quality, safety, and performance of healthcare services by collaborating with directors and staff to identify key indicators for data collection and analysis. This position involves developing dashboards and scorecards to monitor internal metrics, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting various projects through actionable data. The nurse will also manage the All Scripts EHR system for quality assurance data and participate in continuous survey readiness activities.

Requirements

  • Must have current CA RN/LVN license.
  • Prefer CPHQ certification.
  • One (1) year healthcare-related quality management/performance improvement experience (e.g., chart audits, PI Team Member) or 2 years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • CPHQ certification highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with directors and staff to identify quality, safety, and performance indicators for data collection and analysis.
  • Develop dashboards and scorecards to depict internal metrics and benchmark comparisons.
  • Identify sources of valid and reliable information and metrics to monitor performance and outcome trends.
  • Partner with Information Services staff to provide actionable and timely data for various projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the use of database applications, presentations, and creating graphs and dashboards for the department and hospital.
  • Build audit tools for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.
  • Manage the concurrent and retrospective Clinical Core Measures process, including abstraction and submission.
  • Assist in the organization's Continuous Survey Readiness Activities for CIHQ, TJC, and CDPH Investigations.
  • Develop and recommend corrective action plans when indicator measurements are below predetermined thresholds.
  • Manage the All Scripts EHR system for quality assurance data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop and standardize reports, questionnaires, and conduct comparative studies, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Meet hospital continuing education requirements through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
