The Role: QA Lead Technician As a QA Lead Technician, you are responsible for facility maintenance, quality assurance oversight, and hands-on light construction support across Switch facilities. You lead daily execution activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure spaces are clean, functional, and ready for tours and operational use. This role combines hands-on technical work with field leadership. You coordinate vendors, support technicians, and ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely and to standard in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Technician II role or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Power tool and light construction experience.
  • Experience with drywall repair, painting, and general facility maintenance.
  • Basic PC skills, including Outlook and internal communication tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment and respond to emergencies as required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scheduling contractors and coordinating maintenance vendors.
  • Familiarity with internal systems such as LDC or UltiPro.
  • Demonstrated ability to train or mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general facility maintenance and light-duty construction tasks.
  • Maintain customer-facing areas including entry points, conference rooms, restrooms, shipping areas, lounges, and common spaces.
  • Escort vendors performing maintenance and repair work.
  • Perform drywall repair, texture, painting, tile replacement, lighting repair, and ballast replacement.
  • Conduct facility walks and identify discrepancies or corrective actions.
  • Schedule and prioritize team workload.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to technicians.
  • Coordinate stock deliveries and communicate with warehouse teams.
  • Procure necessary inventory and supplies.
  • Coordinate dumpster, baler, pallet, and recycling pickups.
  • Maintain tour path readiness and customer cage spaces.
  • Provide standby support for outside contractors.
  • Operate trucks, trailers, and equipment as required.
  • Work off-hours when needed to maintain facility readiness.
