About The Position

Following established policies and procedures, this position encompasses the inspecting, testing and evaluating of finished goods at different stages of the production process to determine and maintain quality and consistency of products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. Selects products for testing at specified stages in the production process and at predetermined intervals. Tests products for quality characteristics utilizing various pieces of laboratory equipment, following proscribed Tree Top methods and using proper laboratory technique. Calibrates laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results. Calculates and records test data completely, concisely, accurately and legibly on paper are well as the computer. Evaluates data and communicates information to Supervisor to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Responsible for addressing potential food safety and quality issues of the product. Informs Supervisor on a timely basis all operational problems encountered and what action was taken to resolve the problems with recommendations to prevent reoccurrences. This includes the documentation of operation trouble spots to corrective action. Conducts oneself in a professional manner, working safely, taking precautions in preventing product and/or equipment damages and losses, cooperating with co-workers and maintaining good housekeeping practices at all times. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily as well as to pass the lab test. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred; General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • One to three month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, and interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily as well as to pass the lab test.
