Bird‑Johnson, part of Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD), is a long‑standing leader in the design, manufacture, and overhaul of marine propellers and propulsion system components. Our work includes controllable‑pitch and fixed‑pitch propellers, along with large‑scale foundry castings, machining, finishing, and inspection of propulsion hardware used on U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines, as well as select commercial marine applications. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a direct role in ensuring the dimensional accuracy, material integrity, and overall quality of large, highly engineered propulsion components. This is a hands‑on position supporting foundry, machining, and finishing operations where precision and compliance are critical to ship performance, safety, and mission success. At Bird Johnson, the products you inspect are not theoretical, they are installed on vessels that support national defense and maritime readiness.
