Summary/Objective The Quality Assurance Inspector has the responsibility to inspect, accept, or reject work performed in a particular discipline in compliance with applicable codes and specifications. Prepare reports and quality records in compliance with procedures. Keeping up to date on all code endorsed inspection stamps and meet the standards of today’s industry. Assist the QA Manager with making sure all books are up to date. Communicate with management team including production, engineering, and applications with regard to quality and spec issues and recommendations. Supervisor Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment. Regular trips to shop and warehouse for observation and research are also required. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include/hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields. Protective toe boots are not required when employee is in designated walkways in the plant. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While preforming duties of this job, the person in this position frequently communicates with employees and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee constantly must remain stationary for long periods of time, while operating a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets and operate office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and laminator. The employee might occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Regularly, may be required to visit the shop that is a non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. Occasionally visit customer sites to evaluate projects, which may require moving above, below, over and around stationary objects. Some sites may have space limitations which, may make movement while installing, adjusting, or repairing equipment and parts difficult. These customer sites may potentially be hot, cold, or loud. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Friday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Additional work hours may be required as job duties demand. You will be scheduled for 36 hours but PAID for 40 hours. Travel Little to no travel is expected for this position. Education and Experience Associate degree in quality assurance or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge in electrical and assembly preferred. Minimum 5 years demonstrated work experience. NDE level 2 certs. MT, PT & Film Interpretation. Experience with section VIII Div.1 codes. Familiar with D1.1, B31.1 & B31.3. Familiar with section I codes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
