This job description describes the authority, duties, responsibilities, reporting relationships and measure of accomplishment for the functional position of the Quality Inspector of All-Plastics. BASIC FUNCTION: Inspects product received and manufactured for conformance to established standards by visual and mechanical measurements. AUTHORITY: The Quality Inspector receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the QA Manager for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Quality Inspector reports directly to the QA Manager This position does not supervise any direct reports. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The principal duties and responsibilities of the Quality Inspector consist of, but are not limited to, the following: To assist the QA Manager and Manufacturing by inspecting product and analyzing the data that may be affecting the product or processes. Initiating action appropriate to the situation. Inspects product during the manufacturing process at prescribed intervals or per sampling plans. Assures proper labeling and sign off prior to customer shipment. To assure consistency in inspection methods, performs all inspections per procedures/work instructions. Initiates changes to procedures as appropriate. Mains inspection records/reports Immediately reports all discrepancies in product or processes to the Quality Manager. Initiates non-conforming tags when product is identified as discrepant or suspect. Various other duties as assigned MEASUREMENT OF PERFORMANCE: The Quality Inspector shall be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following have been met and/or exceeded: Goals Outlined on Matrix: Quality without a problem Customer complaints Cost of poor quality Overall satisfaction of immediate supervisor.
